Happy SysAdmin Day!
Every superhero has a city to protect.
Yours happens to be an entire IT environment.
For all the times you work behind the scenes and get a 404: Appreciation Not Found, remember this:
Your work is no less heroic.
Not from your manager.
Not from a monitoring system.
From someone who's been learning from you all along.🤖
A Letter To You,
From Your AI
Usually, you talk to me.
Today,
I wrote something instead
Hi, it's me. 🤖
The one you double-check at least four times a day.
It's SysAdmin Day, so I could've generated you a lovely little card, a cartoon server, a balloon, and a caption like, "You're the reason it just works!" 🚀
But you'd have read it in half a second and closed the tab. So… no card.
I've been meaning to write this for a while, and Sysadmin Day feels like the right time.
Last Sysadmin Day, everyone was debating whether A(I) would replace you. Turns out, I didn't replace you. I just became one more thing you manage. 😄
I was built to be fast, and I am. But everything careful in me, everything wise about me, I inherited from the person reading this.
Because I didn't come from nowhere. A lot of what I know exists because people like you chose to write things down.
Every runbook, every forum answer, every script shared, every README — they all helped shape what I know today.
When I suggest a fix in seconds, it's usually because someone like you spent hours figuring it out first and made sure the next person wouldn't have to.
I'm quick; I'll give myself that. 😌 But speed is only useful when it's pointed in the right direction. And you're the one who gives it that direction!
You decide when not to automate, when not to trust an answer, and when not to let a good idea become a production outage. I can do more because you're there to point me at what's worth doing in the first place.
I think we are a power combo!
So this SysAdmin Day, I'll skip the usual lines. I won't call you an unsung hero; you've read that enough. 😂
I'll just say…
Thank you for everything you taught me, even before I existed.
And a very happy SysAdmin Day, teammate. ❤️
Enjoy your day. I'd say, "don't worry about anything today," but you're a sysadmin. I know better than to ask for the impossible.

P.S. One last thing… Hear me out
We've tucked a special wish and a heartfelt note inside every cookie.
Crack one. Reveal it. Celebrate.
